The Cooperstown Farmers Market Local Foods and Local Spirits Cocktail Party, scheduled for Friday, August 16, 5:30-7:30, Templeton Hall, Cooperstown is coming together nicely! And you won’t want to miss it, so SAVE the DATE to come celebrate our bustling agricultural community.
- Lucy Townsend (who has just launched Firehouse Market on Pioneer Street) has whipped up a grand tasting menu of local ingredients.
- Cooperstown Wine and Spirits is tinkering with the pairings.
- Ed Badgley and his jazz group are tuning up their instruments.
- Some good old fashioned fundraising will be going on, a silent auction of local treasures, fabulous new posters, and an effort to enroll more of our friends in the “Friend of the Market!”
Local experts will circulate through the party ready to talk about all the interesting things that are happening in our regional food chain. As you may have heard, this spring Albany cleared the way for farm distilleries to sell at farmers’ markets, which incidentally sparked this celebration. From the diverse array of farming to the infrastructure businesses that support local agriculture, you will learn more about our own treasure trove of local foods and spirits.
Please join us to celebrate the growing bounty of our region.
