  1. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar.
  2. In another bowl, sift together 2 cups flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add sifted ingredients alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture.
  4. Toss rhubarb with 1 tablespoon and stir into batter.
  5. Spoon batter into buttered 9x13 pan and smooth the surface.
  6. Blend together ¼ cup butter, cinnamon and brown sugar; sprinkle evenly over batter.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
