FERC Decision Regarding Impact of Greenhouse Gas

On May 18, 2018 the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) issued a decision regarding greenhouse gas emissions. It stated that the federal agency will no longer evaluate reasonably foreseeable greenhouse gas impacts associated with the upstream production or downstream consumption of natural gas when reviewing pipeline projects. In other words, FERC will ignore the climate changing impacts of pipeline projects within their jurisdiction. Please read the letter which was submitted by Otsego 2000, Delaware Riverkeeper Network, and Mothers Outfront to Governor Cuomo and Attorney General Barbara Underwood.
