There was another roll over just south of Schuyler Lake on July 11, 2018. The photo above, courtesy of WKTV shows the roll over which happened about 3 pm. The truck is owned by Xpress Natural Gas, or XNG, and was carrying compressed natural gas from Pennsylvania to their facilities in the town of Manheim. Everyone within a quarter mile of the crash had to be evacuated, according to police. It was necessary to remove gas from the truck before it could be righted, and the process was expected to last through the night. The significance of the photo is not lost on any of us; our beautiful landscapes marred and potentially polluted by these trucks and their tankers full of compressed natural gas. How many “accidents” will it take before these trucks will be removed from our winding, rural roads which were never intended for this type or level of traffic?
