Otsego 2000 Seeks Court Review of FERC Decision Ignoring Climate Impacts

On May 18, 2018 the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) issued a decision regarding greenhouse gas emissions. It stated that the federal agency will no longer evaluate reasonably foreseeable greenhouse gas impacts associated with the upstream production or downstream consumption of natural gas when reviewing pipeline projects.

Otsego 2000 has just issued a press release regarding our Petition for Review challenging the FERC decision to deny a rehearing for pipeline and compressor station expansion in the Dominion New Market Project.

Attorney General Barbara Underwood submitted her own letter to FERC on July 10, 2018 in which she states that the “Rehearing Denial is procedurally and substantively wrong and FERC should not adhere to it in the future.”
