First Saturday Fun with Miss Jen at the Cooperstown Farmers’ Market
On the first Saturday of each month, the Cooperstown Farmers’ Market offers free hands-on activities for kids. From scavenger hunts to veggie bingo, zucchini races to berry tastings, kids can enjoy fun and creative ways to connect with the farmers market and healthy eating. May 2: Vegetable/Flower seed planting and decorate seed pots
June 6: Mural Scavenger Hunt, make a mural activity and prizes
July 4: Print a Veggie Flag
August 1: Veggie and Berry Tastings, Guess the Vegetable/Fruit and Make a Veggie Bookmark
August 3-8 Farmers’ Market Week: We will be having Zucchini Races (make a race car out of zucchini!) on Tuesday, August 4 and Saturday, August 8
August 15: National Honeybee Day: Bee Crowns, Educational Coloring Sheets, Honey Sticks and Bee Stickers
September 5: Market Scavenger Hunt & Meet a Farmer
October 3: Pumpkin Painting
November 7: Decorate a Market Reusable Bag
December 5: Wooden Snowflake and Farm Animal Ornament Painting
The Market has coloring tables, a fruit and veggie felt board, and kid-sized picnic tables at every Market.
